Ghanaian international Brian Oddei was in blistering form when FC Koper held Olimpija Ljubljana to a thrilling draw in the Slovenian top-flight on Saturday afternoon. The 23-year-old forward, who joined Koper last summer, was handed a starting role in the fiercely contested Week 23 fixture and proved instrumental in helping his side secure a valuable point on the road.Oddei set the tone early in the encounter, opening the scoring before the half-hour mark. His strike ensured Koper headed into the halftime break with a slender lead after an impressive first-half display. However, the momentum shifted shortly after the restart when Ahmet Muhamedbegovi drew the hosts level in the 52nd minute. Koper responded positively, reclaiming their lead through Jean-Pierre Longonda, who found the back of the net to restore their advantage. The visitors tightened their grip on the contest in the 64th minute when Bassirou Ndiaye extended the lead, putting them in a commanding position and seemingly on course for maximum points. But Olimpija refused to surrender. A spirited late rally saw Dino Koji pull one back in the 77th minute before Pedro Lucas struck deep into stoppage time to salvage a dramatic draw for the home side.Despite the late disappointment, Oddeis influence was undeniable. The Ghanaian winger continues to grow in stature in Slovenia, having now made 12 league appearances this season, registering one goal and two assists as he cements his place in Kopers attacking setup.
