Ghanaian striker Naeem Mohammed has secured a new club after completing a move to South Korean side Chungnam Asan FC following the expiration of his contract with Swedish outfit Halmstads BK.The 29-year-old attacker was officially unveiled by the K League 2 club on Tuesday as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the ongoing 2026 season.Mohammed left Halmstads at the end of the 2025 campaign after spending three seasons with the Swedish club.During his time with the Hallands-based side, the Ghanaian forward made 73 appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing six assists.Speaking after completing the move, Mohammed expressed excitement about the new chapter in his career and his determination to make an immediate impact.I am very happy to have signed for Chungnam Asan FC. I want to get into the team as quickly as possible and show good performances in front of the fans, he said.I will become a player who contributes to the teams victories by scoring many goals.Born in 1996, Mohammed is known for his pace, sharp movement behind defensive lines and his ability to finish chances inside the penalty area.He is also capable of operating across multiple attacking positions, including as a central striker or winger.The forward built a strong reputation in Sweden after moving there in 2019. His most prolific season came in 2022 when he scored 23 goals in 27 matches for Sandvikens IF to finish as the leagues top scorer.At Chungnam Asan, Mohammed is expected to fit into head coach Im Kwan-siks attacking philosophy, which emphasises speed and direct play in the final third.Chungnam Asancompete in South Koreas second-tier league, K League 2, and will face Daegu FC in their Round 3 clash on March 15 at the Yisun-sin Comprehensive Sports Ground.The club will hope Mohammeds arrival adds greater firepower as they push for a strong campaign this season.
