Ghanaian Highlife star Dada Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada KD, has died at the age of 56.

According to family sources, the famed music crooner died on Friday, May 16, 2025, after complaining of a slight sickness last Sunday. 

The news of his death has sent shockwaves through Ghana’s music fraternity, with fans and colleague musicians offering their sympathies to the bereaved family. 

Dada KD was one of Ghana’s most respected contemporary Highlife artistes, with numerous hit songs, including “Fatia Fata Nkrumah,” a timeless tune that continues to receive extensive airplay.   

His contagious and heartfelt songs healed many hearts, especially with his compassionate lyrics depicting events in the Ghanaian love circle. 

Dada KD had nine albums to his credit, including “Somugye”, “Ebeboawo”, “Obiara Se Aye”, and “Odo Mu Anigyebi”. 

Throughout his over three-decade career in music, he has won various honours, including Best Male Vocalist award at the 2004 Ghana Music (UK).
