Frustration fumes as Ghanaian top sports journalists secure a police permit on their charge to embark on a peaceful demonstration against the Ghana FA and the Sports Ministry for their unacceptable conduct when it comes to the handling of football administrative matters in Ghana.

On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, a group of honourable sports journalists led by Saddick Adams managed to secure a police permit to embark on a peaceful demonstration on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. The idea for this demonstration is to send strict awareness to the Ghana Football Association and Sports Ministry about the gradual decline of our beautiful game(football).

Ghanaians have been asking numerous questions concerning how badly our football has fallen over the last couple years. This question has constantly been overlooked by the leaders handling the administrative matters of Ghana Football.

Every sector of football in Ghana is suffering a huge setback, with the senior national team (the Black Stars) holding a huge part of it. The Black Stars have since performed poorly whenever they present Ghana in a major tournament, ever since the current GFA administration took office.

Following the acquisition of the permit for a peaceful demonstration, renowned sports journalist Saddick Adams shared a few words with the media as he outlined that Ghanaians and sports journalists in Ghana don’t have anything against the Ministry and the FA, but they just want the right things to be done.

“It is just a peaceful walk to present a petition to show how well we love this sport. Football is one of the passions of the nation, and we can’t sit and watch it die. If football dies, the nation also dies; there’s no hate or anger, as the anger is even a positive one, said Saddick Adams.

The organisers also highlighted that the demonstration is for a change in Ghana’s declining fortunes in the sports sector.
