Former Ghana international striker Caleb Ekuban was on target for Genoa CFC as they cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory over Torino FC in the Italian Serie A on Sunday afternoon.The match, played at the iconic Stadio Luigi Ferraris, saw the home side produce a dominant display to secure all three points in front of their supporters.English defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy opened the scoring in the 21st minute, finishing off a well-worked move to hand Genoa an early advantage.The hosts continued to pile pressure on Torino and were rewarded again five minutes before the break.Ekuban doubled Genoas lead in the 40th minute when he reacted quickest inside the penalty area to slot home from close range after a rebound fell kindly into his path.The goal marked his third in the Serie A this season, underlining his growing importance to the teams attacking setup.In the second half, Genoa maintained control of proceedings and put the result beyond doubt in the 83rd minute.Brazilian forward Junior Messias capitalised on a defensive lapse to fire home the third goal and seal a comprehensive win.Ekuban, who was recently handed a new two-year contract extension, has now registered three goals and one assist in 21 league appearances this campaign.The 31-year-old continues to play a key role as Genoa push to secure a strong finish in the Italian top flight.
