Ghanaian midfielder Frank Junior Adjei made an immediate impact off the bench to help IFK Varnamo secure a dramatic 2-2 draw against league giants Malmo FF in their Swedish Allsvenskan clash at Finnvedsvallen on Thursday. The former Bibiani Gold Stars man once again proved his worth with a timely goal just one minute after his introduction. The match began at a frantic pace, with Icelandic forward Daniel Tristan Gudjohnsen giving Malmo an early lead in the 4th minute.Varnamo, however, responded well and found the equalizer in the 34th minute through Syria international Mohammad Alsalkhadi. But their joy was short-lived as Malmo restored their advantage just five minutes later, with experienced defender Pontus Janssen heading home to make it 2-1 before halftime.Seeking a response, Varnamo turned to their bench, bringing on Adjei in the 78th minute for Simon Thern. The substitution paid off almost instantly – within a minute, Adjei latched onto a clever pass from Carl Johansson and calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to bring the home side level. It was a well-taken goal from the young Ghanaian, whose ability to influence games from the bench is becoming a valuable asset for Varnamo.Adjei has now scored twice in 9 appearances in the Swedish top league this season.
