Ghanaians on Twitter tell Arsenal striker Edward Nketiah not to consider playing for Black Stars in reaction to Ghana FA congratulatory tweet

Numerous Ghana football fans besieged the Ghana Football Association twitter page to react to a congratulatory message tweet from the FA to Arsenal striker Edward Nketiah.

Nketiah, 21, lifted the English FA Cup with Mikel Arteta’s Gunners after coming off the bench to play in their 2-1 come-from-behind win over Chelsea on Saturday.

Saturday’s trophy becomes the latest honours for the London-born who has also won the Toulon Tournament in 2018.

Following his latest success the Ghana FA used their twitter handle to officially congratulate the forward who is regarded as a long term pursuit of the West African nation.

Nketiah returned the courtesy by replying the tweet with a ‘Thank you’.

But, fans following the interaction had their own ideas as they inspired the player to never consider playing for the Ghana senior national team.

The forward is still an England youth international but is eligible to represent Ghana at senior level if he decides to commit his international future to the 4-time African champions.

Below is a sample of some of the replies and reaction from football fans.
