The Technical Center of the Ghana Football Association, the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence located at Prampram in the Greater Accra Region, is all set to host the maiden Elite U15 Girls Championship which commences on Monday, 15th July, 2024.
This innovative initiative of the GFA, the brainchild of GFA President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and the Executive Council of the GFA, brings together top Under 15 Girl talents from the ten Football Regions of the country to showcase their talents and vie for selection into the pool of talent from which the core of the Girls Under 15 Nation Team shall be formed.
The Elite U15 Girls Championship is a key plank in the GFA’s implementation of the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS).
Pitches to be used by the various teams are in pristine condition awaiting the anticipated energetic competition to be engaged in by the talented Girls.
All necessary administrative structures have also been put in place to ensure the organisation of a memorable maiden edition of the tournament.
The tournament, which runs from 15th to 24th July, 2024, will see each regional team engaging in a series of matches to provide ample exposure to every player selected for the tournament.
This would provide GFA Elite Scouts as well as National Team selectors who will be at the tournament the required scope to be able to select players for the Girls Under 15 National Team.
The GFA plans to make this tournament an annual event as it continues with its implementation of the Women’s Football Strategy which was launched in 2023.
