Inaki Williams was on target as Athletic Bilbao secured a 2-1 win against Osasuna in the Euskal Herria Txapela on Saturday.
The match, held as part of the pre-season preparation, saw Bilbao clinch their third Euskal Herria Txapela title.
Alvaro Djalo opened the scoring for Athletic Bilbao in the 19th minute, finishing off a shot from Óscar de Marcos.
Osasuna equalized in the 26th minute through Rubén García. However, it was Djalo’s brilliance that set up the decisive goal. He made a fantastic run down the left flank, dribbling past a defender before delivering a precise pass to Iñaki Williams. Williams then executed a brilliant screw shot to give Athletic Bilbao the lead in the 65th minute.
The victory not only adds to Bilbao’s pre-season momentum but also underscores their readiness for the upcoming La Liga season. Athletic Bilbao will next face Premier League side Aston Villa on August 7, followed by a match against Bundesliga side Stuttgart on August 10. These fixtures are crucial for Bilbao’s preparations ahead of the new campaign.
