Ghana’s teenage sensationâ¯Jenniferâ¯Awuku has been rewarded for her outstanding performances at the 2024/25 CAF African Schools Football Championship with an invitation to serve as a Ball Kid at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final in Morocco onâ¯18â¯Januaryâ¯2026.
The 15âyearâold forward from Ridge Church School dazzled at the continental showpiece in Accra onâ¯26â¯Aprilâ¯2025, earning “Player of the Competition” honours as she led Ghana to the girls’ title. Her awareness in tight spaces, quick feet, and eye for goal caught the attention of CAF technical observers and partners TotalEnergies, who will cover her travel and accommodation for the AFCON showpiece along with a legal guardian.
During her stay in Morocco, Jennifer will take part in development clinics and cultural excursions arranged by CAF and TotalEnergies. Her journey will be documented across their digital platforms to inspire other young players across Africa.
“This is more than a prizeâit opens doors for girls like me to dream even bigger,” Jennifer said after receiving the news in Accra.
CAF General Secretary Véron MosengoâOmba called the initiative “an investment in the future of African football,” while TotalEnergies’ Brand ViceâPresident Martinâ¯Bertran pledged continued support for programmes that help young talent flourish.
