A five-day specialised coaching course for Goalkeepers trainers of Premier League, Division One League and Women’s League clubs as well as Division Two clubs is underway at the technical centre of the Ghana Football Association at Prampram.

Fifty two (52) participants are taking part in the course which runs from Wednesday September 11, 2024, to Monday September 16, 2024, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

The course is aimed at providing coaches with the capabilities to design and deliver effective goalkeeping practices, while offering practical experiences they can apply at their various environments.

The programme will also give participants a deep insight into integrity matters and ensure that the participants can provide vital insight and advice to their various stakeholders.

Former Ghana goalkeeper Abubakar Damba is the lead instructor for the five-day course and is being supported by Black Stars goalkeepers’ trainer, Fatawu Dauda, as well as former goalkeepers Cudjoe Addo and Isaac Amoako.

The programme is under the supervision of GFA Technical Director, Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah and Director of Coach Education, Desmond Sakyi Ofei with administrative support from Andrews Kwesi Eshun.

This course forms part of the GFA’s plan to improve the goalkeeping department of the game in Ghana.
