Gospel musician Nana Yaw Boakye, widely known as MOG Music, recently opened up about the heart-wrenching loss of his 7-month-old baby in an interview with MzGee on Just Being Us.
He shared the emotional ordeal, starting with a distressing call from his wife on a Monday morning.
“She called me around 11 am and said, ‘Baby, I haven’t felt the baby move all day,’” he recalled, his voice heavy with emotion. Overwhelmed with concern, he quickly contacted his mother for advice. The couple then rushed to the hospital, where a nurse performed a scan to check their baby’s heartbeat.
The nurse’s reluctance to provide immediate information only deepened their anxiety as she asked them to wait for the doctor.
“At that moment, my wife couldn’t stop crying; she was inconsolable. I tried to comfort her, took her to the car, placed my hands on her stomach, and prayed, calling on Jesus, hoping for a miracle.”
When the doctor finally arrived and performed another scan, he delivered the devastating news: “I don’t know what happened, but the baby is not alive.” MOG Music and his wife were shattered.
