The Ministry of Health has disclosed that the government of Ghana, has, as of today, February 27 paid salary arrears for both nurses and midwives.
The ministry disclosed in a communique they released sighted by Gh Page.
Following the release of the communique, Dr. Samuel Kofi, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of health stated that “Following extensive engagements with the Ministry of Finance, approval has been granted for the arrears to be paid in four instalments from April through July.”
According to him, “This structured payment arrangement underscores the Government’s firm commitment to clearing all outstanding obligations in a timely, responsible, and sustainable manner.”
He went on to praise health workers in the country, stating that “We commend our health workers for their steadfast commitment to service delivery, even in the face of delays”, adding that “We also sincerely appreciate the Ministry of Finance for the priority attention and urgency given to this matter.”
