General Secretary of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) and the Acting Chairman of the Peace Campaign Planning Committee, Apostle Emmanuel Tettey has raised concerns about some citizens flooding his phone with complaints relating to Pastors prophesying about the upcoming 2024 general election on December 7, 2024.

In an interview on GTV Breakfast on October 31,2024, Apostle Tettey bemoaned that the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has taken proactive steps in addressing concerns surrounding pastors’ election prophecies.

According to Apostle Tettey, the GPCC has been actively engaging with member churches and ministers.

“The GPCC has the unique ability to hold prophets accountable, and we’ve done just that,” he stated.

However, Apostle Tettey added that the challenge lies with unaffiliated prophets. “Mostly, those prophecies come from floating prophets,” he stated, highlighting the lack of accountability and oversight among these individuals. Within the GPCC, member churches and ministers are held to a higher standard through active engagement.

Additionally, Apostle Immanuel further explained that while they can hold their member churches accountable, non-member churches and individual prophets pose a greater challenge.

“We can hold our member churches accountable, but non-member churches and individual prophets operating outside our umbrella are harder to regulate,” he stated.

Apostle Immanuel emphasized that (GPCC) has a significant stake in Ghana’s wellbeing, boasting approximately 10 million adherents nationwide, with the Church of Pentecost alone having over 3.5 million members, accounting for 10% of Ghana’s population. “Politicians recognize our numbers and often reach out; “As spiritual leaders, we have a mandate to care about our citizens, who fill our member churches. National issues directly impact them, making our interest crucial,” He stated.
