Match-week 28 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League produced 11 goals across seven matches, with home teams dominating the round by scoring nine, while away sides managed just two.
This round was to be kicked off by Eleven Wonders and Hohoe United but the game was postponed following the latter’s withdrawal from the league.
On Saturday, Bechem United held Medeama SC to a pulsating 1-1 draw at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park. Augustine Okrah netted his 10th goal of the season in the 70th minute to give the hosts the lead, but Salim Adams equalised from the spot in the dying embers The result has now seen Medeama drop from the top spot.
Sunday’s action saw Hearts of Oak return to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Young Apostles. Frank Duku Abora’s 35th minute strike proved decisive as the Phobians ended a five-game winless run, with their last victory coming in mid-February against bitter rivals Asante Kotoko.
Basake Holy Stars continued their impressive run with a 1-0 win over Karela United, courtesy Bismark Teye’s 77th minute goal. The result extends their unbeaten streak to six matches, including four wins.
At the Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea edged Aduana FC 1-0 to stretch their unbeaten run to three games, while the ‘Ogya’ lads are now winless in their last three outings.
Bibiani GoldStars capitalised on Medeama’s slip to reclaim top spot after a 2-1 victory over Nations FC. All three goals were scored in the first half as the Miners secured a crucial win with their title defense quest still on course.
Heart of Lions also returned to winning ways with a 2-0 triumph over Vision FC, thanks to first-half goals bt Kelvin Asenso and Michael Ephson.
Swedru All Blacks completed Sunday’s fixtures with a 1-0 win against Dreams FC, with Zayat Abubakari scoring the decisive goal to end Dreams’ four-game unbeaten run.
The round will conclude on Monday with a clash between Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex at the Baba Yara Stadium, scheduled for 16:30 GMT.
