Medeama SC surged back to the top of the Premier League table with a composed 2-0 victory over bottom-placed Eleven Wonders at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium, reigniting their title charge at a crucial stage of the season.

The Mauve and Yellow boys now hold a slender one-point advantage over reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars FC.
Medeama asserted control early in the contest and were rewarded in the 22nd minute when striker Kelvin Obeng broke the deadlock.
He reacted quickest to a well-delivered corner from Fatawu Sulemana, guiding a clever header in from a tight angle to give the hosts the lead. Just six minutes later, midfielder Salim Adams doubled the advantage with a trademark free-kick, underlining Medeama’s early dominance.
Medeama SC now occupies the apex of the league table with 49 points plus 17 goals, just a point ahead of Gold Stars, who have 48 points with zero goal difference.
Bibiani Gold Stars Loses Top Spot
One of the biggest results of the weekend came in Tamale, where Karela United FC stunned league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars FC with a 2-0 victory.
First-half goals from Mohammed Awal Alhassan and Felix Mortu ended Gold Stars’ stay at the top, underlining Karela’s formidable home form and reshuffling the title race.
Hearts, Kotoko Share Points
Hearts of Oak SC failed to pick all three points again in its match week 27 home game against All Blacks.
The Phobians fought painstakingly in the second half to stage a comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Swedru All Blacks on their return to the Accra Sports Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
The visitors raced into a two-goal lead through Rudolf Mensah in the 22nd minute and William Danquah in the 38th minute, capitalising on defensive lapses. However, Hearts responded strongly in the second half through Mawuli Wayo in the 61st minute and Frank Duku with the equalizer in the 74th minute.
Goals from Mawuli Wayo and Frank Duku rescued a point for the Phobians, though their winless run now stretches to five matches, leaving them six points off the summit.
This leaves the Phobians in fourth place on the league table, behind Kumasi Asante Kotoko in third place on goal difference.
Elsewhere, Asante Kotoko SC and Aduana FC played out a tense goalless draw at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park at Dormaa.
Despite Aduana’s dominance in possession and chances, neither side could find the breakthrough, leaving both teams still within touching distance but missing a key opportunity to close the gap on the leaders.
Whilst Kotoko sit third place on the table, Aduana now occupies the fifth position with 42 points.
Elsewhere in Tema, Dreams FC continued their impressive form with a dominant 3-0 victory over Hohoe United FC.
Early and composed finishing from Aminu Adams, Suraj Seidu and Abdul Razak Salifu sealed a comfortable win, extending Dreams’ strong run while deepening Hohoe’s relegation concerns.
In Wenchi, Young Apostles boosted their survival hopes with an emphatic 3-0 win over Heart of Lions.
Claude Shooting Bortey’s first-half brace set the tone before Richmond Opoku sealed the victory, lifting Apostles’ confidence in the relegation battle.
In Samreboi, Bechem United claimed a vital 2-1 away win over FC Samartex 1996. Early goals from Samuel Okai and Yaw Annor proved decisive, as Samartex’s struggles continued despite a late first-half response.
Nations FC maintained their unbeaten home record with a 1-1 draw against Berekum Chelsea. Samuel Tenadu gave the visitors the lead, but Brandon Antwi’s late equalizer ensured the points were shared.
With Medeama SC reclaiming top spot, the competition between the top two is heightened with just a point difference, whilst that of the top four is even more interesting with Kotoko and Hearts of Oak separated by just goal difference.
Meanwhile, Aduana and Karela, who sit fifth and sixth, also have high chances of breaking into the top four with 42 and 41 points, respectively.
At the bottom of the table, Eleven Wonders SC has its fate determined already, with just 10 points from 27 games. However, the battle remains fierce between the two teams that will be joining Wonders.
Hohoe United, with 30 points, Berekum Chelsea and All Blacks, 32 points, and Young Apostles, 33 points, are all likely to be relegated depending on how the remaining games turn out. This promises to be an exciting end to the season as football lovers are keenly following the games with excitement.
