After a gruelling five-year legal battle, the Great Mission International Home in Teshie, Accra, has finally emerged victorious in a land dispute case.

The orphanage’s director, John A. Nyavor, initiated the lawsuit in March 2019 against John Kwaku Yaboah, who had encroached on the land designated for constructing homes for the orphaned children under their care.

Despite possessing all the necessary documentation, the orphanage faced relentless harassment and physical assault from the encroachers, hindering their efforts to develop the land.

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, Her Ladyship Rita Abena Abrokwah of the Accra High Court ruled in favour of the orphanage, confirming their ownership of the land.

An elated Mr. Nyavor expressed gratitude to God and to everyone who had supported the orphanage throughout the ordeal. He also appealed for continued support to enable the construction of much-needed homes for the children.

”I’m grateful to God for this victory and also thank everyone who stood by him through this journey. He also…I’m open to receiving support to continue building the homes for the children now that he has the land back.”
