Great Olympics part ways with Yaw Preko

Great Olympics have severed ties with coach Yaw Preko after only five months in charge due to the club’s dismal performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

This comes on the heels of Great Olympics’ recent loss to league debutants Nsoatreman, who stunned the Accra-based side with a 2-1 victory.

Yaw Preko took over on September 10, 2022, after Annor Walker left to join Samartex at the end of last season.

Having finished fifth on the log last season, Great Olympics have done little to match the team’s accomplishment this season.

They have won six times and drawn five matches this season. They have also lost six matches with two of those losses coming in their last three games. Great Olympics are currently on a three-game winless run and find themselves in the bottom half of the league on the 11th position.

Former Ghana international Isaac Armah and ex-Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Kingson have been assigned to take temporary charge.

Great Olympics will start the second round of the league with a trip to Bechem United on Sunday, February 19, 2023.
