The Greater Accra Volleyball Association has elected a new set of executives to lead the sport in the region for the next four years following a successful Elective Congress at the media center of the Accra Sports Stadium last week.
The Congress was supervised by the Greater Accra Regional Director of the National Sports Authority, Mr. Albert Papa Asante, and Technical Director Mr. James Odoi Wilson. Nominees, outgoing executives, club representatives and referees were present.
Outgoing executives presented their 2025 financial accounts before the Chairman delivered an address reflecting on the administration’s tenure.
At the end of voting, Mr. Alfred Offei Awuku Akuffo was elected Chairman with 25 “yes” votes to secure another four-year mandate. Mr. Henry Nii Sackey was elected Vice Chairman with 17 “yes” votes. Enoc D. Asare was elected Secretary, with Jullian Nii Barley as Deputy Secretary, Isaac Nsia Boadum as Financial Secretary and Mr. Divine Eden Doste as Treasurer. Abubakar Anani, Eric Amoh, Mohammed Aputeog and Wisdom Dickson were elected as executive members.
In a solidarity message, Mr. Asante urged the new executives to prioritize grassroots volleyball development, particularly in schools, to groom young talents.
Chairman Akuffo thanked members for their confidence and called for unity and professionalism as the new administration begins work immediately.
