Ghana’s economic growth moderated in November 2025, with weaker industry performance offsetting continued strength in services, according to provisional data from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
The Monthly Indicator of Economic Growth (MIEG) shows the economy expanded 4.2 percent year-on-year in November, down from 7.1 percent in the same month last year. The index rose to 122.7, compared to 117.7 in November 2024.
Agriculture grew 4.1 percent, slightly up from 3.8 percent a year earlier, contributing 32.4 percent to overall growth.

Industry slowed sharply to 0.4 percent from 6.2 percent in November 2024, contributing just 2.5 percent to total expansion. The slowdown was largely driven by a decline in mining and quarrying, particularly crude oil production.
Services remained the main growth driver, expanding 6.7 percent, though down from 10.2 percent a year earlier. The sector accounted for 57.7 percent of overall growth, supported by information and communication activities.
The GSS said the figures are provisional and serve as the second leading indicator for fourth-quarter 2025 GDP, which will be released in March 2026.
