The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) Ladies Club has launched a nationwide initiative to revitalize domestic tourism in female secondary schools.
As part of this project, the club, comprised of alumnae from various girls’ schools, visited Accra Girls Senior High School on Friday, September 20, 2024, to revamp their Tourism Club.
During their visit, the GTA Ladies Club met with over 200 Accra Girls Senior High School Tourism Club members. The Club provided them with training and resources to enhance their knowledge and skills in the tourism industry.
Speaking to Channel One TV, the President of the Club Mrs Francisca Kuukuwah Yanneyba Quansah, encouraged the students to consider careers in the field.
“As part of Tourism Month, we organized a ‘Rep Your School’ campaign to visit girls’ schools and revitalize their tourism clubs..Our goal is to encourage everyone in Ghana to embrace domestic tourism, not only as a means of leisure but also as a potential career path.”
The leader urged both male and female students to cultivate a passion for tourism and explore the opportunities it offers.
The theme for the project is Promoting and Sustaining Domestic Tourism Through Second-Cycle Institutions.
Several dignitaries, including Kakra Kofi Attah Mensah, Deputy Director for Marketing at the GTA, and Mrs. Adeline Boateng, Ex-Staff Association, GTA, graced the gathering.
