Gyedu Blay Ambollay tells how he became the first artiste in the world to drop Rap Album in 1973 (Video)


Legendary Ghanaian musician and songwriter widely known as Gyedu Blay Ambolley, who hails from Secondi Takoradi has revealed to his fans how he became the founder of rap music in the world.

Although most Ghanaians generally accept that hiplife artiste Reggie Rockstone introduced rap music in Ghana, Ambolley contends he only did not start rap music in Ghana, but in the world and has documents to support his claim.

Speaking in an exclusive radio interview with Oyoko Odehyia Kofi live on Accra FM, he told the host that, he released his first rap album in 1973, which still hold as the first rap album in the world.

He later refuted claims that Regyie Rockstone is the originator of rap music in Ghana. He continued, Regyie paved way for the young rappers to release their dream in the industry, but he still hold the title as an originator of rap music in Ghana.
