Ghanaian champions Hasaacas Ladies have booked their place in the final tournament of the maiden Caf Women’s Champions League after making the final of the Wafu B qualifiers.
Yusif Basigi’s side defeated Burkinabe side Union Sportive des Forces Armees (USFA) 2-0 in semifinal 1 at the Stade Robert Champroux, Ivory Coast on Monday afternoon.
Goals from Veronica Appiah and Doris Boaduwaa from either half were enough for the second-placed side in Group B beat the Group A winners.
Veronica Appiah headed in a Doris Boaduwaa cross from the right flank to give Hasaacas the lead in the 45th minute to end the first-half 1-0 up.
The provider turned scorer when Milot Pokuaa set Boaduwaa up for the second from close-range inside the box in the 59th minute.
The win means the 4-time Ghanaian champions will wait for the winner in the semifinal 2 between Rivers Angels of Nigeria and Togolese side Amis Du Monde later this evening.
The final will be played on Thursday, August 5, at Stade Robert Champroux. The two finalists will represent Wafu B in the maiden tournament in Egypt.
