Health Minister Fumbles As He Explains Why Ghana Bought Vaccines At $64 Million Instead Of $35 Million


A COVID-19 scandal has broken up in Ghana on how the Ministry of Health purchase overpriced Vaccine.

A report by a Norwegian media house has exposed Ghana for purchasing Sputnik V vaccines which sells at $10 per dose at the cost of $19 per dose.

To make it worse, Ghana paid the money to purchase this vaccine through middle men in Dubai and Norway.

In total, the country spent $66 million to buy 3.4 million doses of vaccines which should have cost $35 million.

This blated robbery has cost the country a whopping $30 Million.



Explaining this after a Norwegian media reported the scandal, the Health Ministry said all efforts to get the vaccines from the Russian government and some individuals came proved unsuccessful  and it had to rather respond to an offer from the private office of one Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the supply of 3.4 million doses at a unit cost of $19.
