Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak will announce Ibrahim Tanko as head coach in the coming days, according to reports in the local media.

The Phobians, who are past winners of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, failed to reach a deal with Portuguese trainer Carlos Pinto and are now on the lookout for a new head coach.

Tanko, the head coach to led Ghana to finish fourth at the 2019 U23 AFCON tournament in Egypt, has declared himself available to coach on the local front.

The Hearts of Oak hierarchy does not have ultimate confidence in Edward Odoom and want to appoint a head coach for Odoom to assist.

Tanko would come in with huge experience as he was the assistant coach for Cameroon at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and has also been assistant manager of Bundesliga side FC Cologne. He worked closely with German trainer Volker Finke and has gleaned a lot of experience from the German tactician.
