Hearts of Oak goalkeepers’ trainer Eric Amponsah has revealed the Phobians were never interested in signing Eric Ofori Antwi from Medeama SC.

Ofori Antwi, 26, was strongly linked with a move to the capital club but Hearts failed to make an official bid for the former Ghana U20 goalkeeper.

In the heat of the transfer talks the goalkeeper’s father even went public to render an apology to the Phobians.

However Hearts of Oak goalkeepers’ coach Eric Amponsah has revealed to Accra-based radio station Peace FM the Ghanaian double-winners where never interested in signing the Sunyani-born.

“We considered it as one of the normal transfer rumours because at Hearts of Oak we have the best goalkeeper in the country in Richard Attah who even received a Black Stars call up,” he told Peace FM.

Ofori Antwi has been strongly linked with a move to Legon Cities.
