The High Commission of India in Accra  has announced the opening of applications for scholarships offered by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, for the 2026–2027 Academic Year.

The scholarships provide Ghanaian students the opportunity to pursue Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD programmes at reputed universities and institutes across India in a wide range of disciplines.

For the Academic Year 2026–2027, the following scholarship schemes are available:

  • India–Africa Maitri Scholarship Scheme:

Under this scheme, 70 scholarship slots are available for Ghanaian students to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies in various STEM and non-STEM disciplines at participating Indian universities.

  • Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship Scheme:

This scheme offers opportunities to pursue studies in Indian culture including dance, music, theatre, performing arts, sculpture, Indian languages, and Indian cuisine, as well as a one-year diploma course in Yoga at select Indian institutions.

The ICCR scholarships provide comprehensive financial support, including return economy class airfare, full tuition fees, monthly stipend, accommodation support and other academic allowances as per ICCR norms.
