Hohoe United’s decision to boycott the remainder of the Ghana Premier League has received strong backing from its playing body, according to Administrative Manager Yussif Uthman.

The Hohoe-based club recently announced its withdrawal from the competition, citing what it described as systemic unfairness in the league. The decision was underscored by their failure to honour a Matchday 28 fixture against Eleven Wonders at the Swedru Stadium.

Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, Uthman revealed that the majority of players fully support the club’s stance, insisting they have endured consistent bias throughout the season.

He highlighted the emotional and professional toll on players, noting that repeated controversial decisions have undermined their efforts and affected morale despite their weekly commitment to training and competition.

At the time of their withdrawal, Hohoe United were in the relegation zone with 30 points from 27 matches, leaving their league status uncertain.

The situation now shifts focus to the Ghana Football Association, which is expected to respond to the club’s action.
