Dundee United midfielder Emmanuel Agyei says he is ready to step up to the senior national team, expressing confidence in his ability to handle the demands of Black Stars football.

The 21-year-old joined the Scottish Premiership side from Israeli Premier League outfit Ashdod for an undisclosed fee, having made 27 appearances across two seasons in Israel.

Since his move to Scotland, Agyei has featured eight times for Dundee United, starting seven matches.

The former Dreams FC midfielder has logged 615 minutes in the league, recording 15 interceptions and 24 clearancesnumbers that underline his growing influence in midfield.

Agyei acknowledges the weight of representing Ghana but insists he is prepared when the opportunity comes.

Its not easy to wear the Black Stars jersey, so Im waiting for that big opportunity, he told Asempa FM.I am ready for a Black Stars call-up, and this is the time.

With the Black Stars gearing up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, Agyei is hopeful his performances at club level will attract the attention of the technical team.

I urge Coach Otto Addo and the Ghanaian coaching team to keep an eye on my performances in the Scottish Premier League, and if Im doing well, to give me a chance with the Black Stars.

Dundee United currently sit eighth in the league standings and travel to Falkirk on Saturday, February 14.
