Interim Asante Kotoko head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has expressed confidence in his ability to lead the club, despite a setback in his debut match.

Yaw Owusu stepped in following the departure of Karim Zito and faced a stern test against rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium. A first-half header from Baba Adamu secured a 1-0 victory for the Phobians.

Speaking to the media after the game, Yaw Owusu acknowledged the challenge the defeat poses to Kotokos title ambitions.

Losing to Hearts of Oak makes it difficult for us to win the league,”he admitted.

When asked if he is the right person to steer the team forward, the interim coach replied firmly: Yes, theres no two ways about it.”

Kotoko, who have gone three games without a win, will look to bounce back when they visit Young Apostles at the Wenchi Sports Stadium in their Matchday 23 fixture this weekend.
