Ghanaian media personality Kofi Adomah Nwanwani has shared an update on his recovery, months after surviving a life-altering gunshot to the face during the Kwafie Festival in Dormaa Ahenkro.

The incident occurred on December 21, 2024, at the vibrant Kwafie Festival, when a chief’s bodyguard accidentally fired a musket at close range, striking Kofi in the eye.

Initially rushed to hospitals in Dormaa and Berekum for emergency care, he was later airlifted to Dubai and the UK for specialised treatment after losing vision in both eyes.

In a heartfelt video posted on Kofi TV on May 22, 2025, Kofi expressed profound gratitude to those who supported him through this harrowing ordeal.

He praised the unwavering love of his family and his wife Miracle Adomah’s relatives, while giving special thanks to Ibrahim Mahama, who “went above and beyond,” even offering his private jet for Kofi’s medical travel. Though the moment was one of gratitude, Kofi reflected somberly, “I won’t shy away from the truth… I felt death was near.”

Kofi shared an encouraging update on his vision, which, while not fully restored, has shown remarkable progress.

“I can now see you standing in front of me. I can read messages… I’m regaining my independence,” he said, his voice brimming with hope.
