Towering Accra Hearts of Oak forward, Kofi Kordzi, has stated he must leave the Ghana Premier League giants to allow other youngsters to rise through the Phobian ranks.
Qatari club, Al Sailiya, have tabled a $150,000 offer for the former Royal FC striker in a bid to prize him out of the Rainbow club.
The club’s Managing Director, Frederick Moore, yesterday stated they’d do what they can to try to persuade him to stay but if he requests to leave, they’ll allow him to go.
The 25-year-old striker said he will have to leave the club to pave way for other players to flourish. He further noted Hearts of Oak can find capable replacements for him should he leave.
“Hearts management has not told me they will not permit me to leave the club, the board is in constant negotiations with the agents”, Kordzi told Kumasi FM.
“The Hearts team has been there since time immemorial, I have to leave to pave way for other players, it will be an opportunity to others when I leave.
“The current players can deliver the job more than some of us who are leaving”, he further expressed. I have been called into a meeting to talk about it on Thursday.”
Checks have revealed Hearts of Oak have sent counter-proposals to Al Sailiya’s $150,000.
Hearts are demanding; first $200,000 and 20% on any onward transfer, second, $150,000, and 30% share on any onward transfer.
