Ghanaian top notch businessman, widely known as Ibrahim Mahama, has sued lawyer Maurice Ampaw, and Wontumi Communications Ltd in the Accra High Court, for defamatiom of character.
In the Writ of Summons filed in the High Court by Reindorf Twumasi Ankrah lawyer for Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, the Plaintiff is asking for damages of 2 million Ghana cedis against the two defendants for publishing untrue and mailicious statements about Mr. Ibrahim Mahama.
Lawyer Reindorf Twumasi Ankrah claims that, the statement made by Maurice Ampaw and published by Wontumi television that Ibrahim Mahama whose companies has a combined total staff strength of over 3000 employees is a liability to the state and also that Ibrahim Mahama by means of fraud obtained a bauxite agreement is defamatory.
Lawyer Reindorf Twumasi Ankrah who represents Ibrahim Mahama further makes the case that, those statements convey to the general public that, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama whose companies has a combined total staff strength of over 3000 employees and was was recently adjudged the African Industrialist of the year 2018 is a useless and of no benefit to the state of Ghana and also that, Ibrahim Mahama is a fraudulently person who has engaged in fraud to obtain a bauxite contract.
Kindly note that, both Wontumi and Maurice Ampaw case will be heard in Accra and not Kumasi.
