Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has stressed the importance of his side’s clash against Asante Kotoko, describing it as a must-win encounter in their title push.

Medeama go into the Ghana Premier League round 29 fixture at the TnA Stadium on the back of a 1-1 draw against Bechem United.

Augustine Okrah had given the hosts the lead before Salim Adams struck late from the penalty spot to deny them all three points.

The Mauve and Yellows currently sit second on the table with 50 points and know that victory over Kotoko could see them reclaim top spot.

Speaking ahead of the game, Tanko emphasized the magnitude of the fixture and his team’s determination to secure all three points at home.

“Playing Asante Kotoko is always a big game, not just because of their name but also because of where we are in the league. Every game is very important, and playing at home, we want to control the game and win.”

The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT, with Medeama aiming to capitalize on home advantage in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.
