Former Black Stars Chief Drummer, Joseph Langabel, says he has no plans of ever having a wedding.
Speaking in an interview with Ghana Weekend on July 17, he indicated that although he has children and grandchildren, he has never married through a formal wedding ceremony—and has no intention of doing so.
“If somebody has grandchildren, it means he married,” he said. “But for wedding, no way. I won’t do wedding. After the wedding, when problems come, you’ll take everything from me.”
According to Langabel, his views are rooted in Ga tradition and personal experience.
He revealed that his own mother was never wedded, and he doesn’t see the need to spend large sums of money on a ceremony that might not ensure a lasting union.
“Why should I spend a lot of money on a wedding, and after five or six years, you haven’t given birth?” he questioned.
