Ghanaian comedy fans are in for a treat as Nigerian comedian Brain Jotter joins forces with Ghanaian stars General Ntatia, Clemento Suarez, and Adwoa Lindsay in the highly anticipated play, You Play Me, I Play You. Written by Efo Kodjo Mawugbe and produced by Africa Art Network, the play dives into a friendly, comedic rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria, where the characters humorously challenge each other to prove who’s best—or worst—in a series of playful role reversals.
In an interview on The Chat on Channel One TV, Brain Jotter shared his excitement about performing in Ghana, a country he deeply admires. “Ghana is like a country I really love” he said. “When I got the call, I didn’t hesitate. It’s the first of its kind, especially with this collaboration, and I’m thrilled to be part of something fresh.” Initially, Brain Jotter admitted the project felt demanding, but working alongside seasoned Ghanaian actor General Ntatia and the talented team made the experience smooth and enjoyable. “The team was strategic with the setup, and working with General Ntatia made it all so easy. What started as a lot of work quickly turned into a lot of fun,” he added.
Clemento Suarez also shared his enthusiasm, highlighting how the storyline brings together the best of Nigerian and Ghanaian humor in a way audiences have never seen. “This is going to be the first time we’re doing something like this—Ghana and Nigeria, side by side on the same stage. People are in for something special and historic. We hope to keep doing this and maybe even take it to other countries,” he said.
With Brain Jotter and General Ntatia embodying the humor of their respective countries, You Play Me, I Play You promises a fresh take on cultural comedy, setting the stage for a memorable evening and paving the way for future cross-country collaborations.
