The Vice Presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, widely known as Roman Fada, has expressed his readiness to succeed the late flagbearer of the party, the late Akua Donkor.
Roman Fada confirmed the death of the flagbearer of the party in an interview with Accra-based Angel FM on Tuesday, October 29.
According to him, the late politician fell sick on Saturday, October 26,204 and was sent to the Nsawam Government Hospital, where she was treated and discharged.
However, on Sunday, October 27, she was rushed to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, formerly known as the Ridge Hospital, where she gave up her soul at about 10 pm on Monday, October 28.
Akua Donkor, according to Roman Fada, died at age 83.
Roman Fada indicated that he is ready to assume the role of the party’s flagbearer if he is permitted by the law following the unfortunate passing of Akua Donkor.
According to him, “If the law says I should be the flagbearer, why not…I am ready to take up the mantle as the flagbearer.
He added, “Since I am an entertainment person, I hope I will get support from my colleagues in the entertainment field.”
The Ghana Freedom Party is expected to release a statement to formally announce her death and their decisions going forward.
