The National Democratic Congress (NDC) staged a nationwide protest on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, to raise concerns over alleged discrepancies in the provisional voters’ register.
The “Enough is Enough” demonstration saw thousands of NDC supporters, adorned in the party’s colours, rallying across major cities in Ghana.
The protest, led by NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, along with party members and supporters, aimed to pressure the Electoral Commission (EC) to permit a forensic audit of the voters’ register.
The NDC claims there are anomalies in the register, including mass transfers of voters, which could undermine the credibility of the upcoming December general elections.
Despite these concerns, the EC has so far dismissed the need for such an audit, insisting the issues raised by the NDC will be resolved in time for the polls.
The protest took place across all 16 regions of the country.
