Mr Ransford Antwi, the Sunyani East Independent Parliamentary Candidate (PC) in the Election 2024 has promised to provide start-up tools for artisanal workers in the constituency, if he wins the parliamentary election.
In that regard, he said he would establish artisanal workers “tools bank” that would provide the working tools and equipment to deserving artisanal workers and apprentices to learn employable skills training and also set up their own workshops.
“I will set up a 40-footer container and stock it with diverse learning tools and equipment for deserving the apprentice and the workers,” he said.
Interacting with the electorate at Kyeremekrom, Atronie, Yawhima and Abesim in the constituency, acknowledged the contributions of the informal sector towards building a resilient local economy.
He said the nation therefore required a robust policy strategy that would support the informal sector workers, alleviate their plight and help their businesses to grow.
That would make employable skills training attractive and lured more of the unemployed youth to learn trade and craft, Mr Antwi stated.
“The youth need something worth doing to control the growing crime wave in the country”, he stated, saying “when they have something profitable to do, criminal activities will also go down”.
Mr Antwi therefore advised the electorates to change their voting pattern from voting for either the NDC or NPP, and vote for him when they go to polls on December 7.
He also asked them to make informed decisions and vote for the political party which had good policies and programmes.
They could do that only if they study the Election 2024 manifestos of the various political parties, Mr Antwi added.
