Interim Asante Kotoko coach Prince Yaw Owusu has conceded that Sundays 1-0 loss to Hearts of Oak has significantly undermined the clubs Ghana Premier League title ambitions.
Kotoko had been seeking to bounce back following consecutive defeatsa league loss to Heart of Lions and an FA Cup exit against Aduana FChoping to rally in front of their home fans at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Their hopes were dashed when Baba Adamus 15th-minute header handed the Phobian Club a crucial win.
The result leaves Kotoko fifth on the league table with 35 points, a position Yaw Owusu says complicates their pursuit of the crown.
This defeat to Hearts makes our title ambition very difficult. Now we need to fight very hard before we can get the title, he said.
The Porcupine Warriors will look to regroup and get back on track when they face Young Apostles in Matchday 23 at the Wenchi Sports Stadium this weekend.
