Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has opened up about the origins of her long-standing “beef” with Efia Odo, tracing it back to her performance with Shatta Wale in London years ago.
Recounting the incident on the Girls Aloud podcast by Kofas Media, Sista Afia revealed that after her performance, Efia Odo posted a picture of her and Eno Barony on Snapchat, circling her in the image and questioning whether there were stylists in Ghana. “It wasn’t about my outfit; it was about my performance with Shatta Wale,” Sista Afia clarified.
Hurt by the remarks, she confronted Shatta Wale about Efia Odo’s behavior, but the musician advised her to ignore it. “I was really upset, and I almost beat her,” Sista Afia admitted.
Despite the heated history, Sista Afia explained that she doesn’t take online squabbles personally. Reflecting on the insults exchanged during their feud, she expressed regret over calling Efia Odo an “industry machine,” describing it as degrading. “For now, I wish I didn’t say it. That is not who I am. I apologize to her,” she stated.
