Ghanaian actor and staunch NPP supporter, Prince David Osei, has found himself embroiled in controversy after calling President-elect John Dramani Mahama a drunkard in a post on his social media page. The actor is now facing massive backlash and has backtracked on his words, claiming he didn’t write the comment himself.
This drama began when the outspoken actor, who publicly supports NPP, congratulated Mahama on his victory following the party’s loss in the elections. In his post, he even boldly declared his intention to run for president one day. However, this move didn’t sit well with many netizens, who quickly began trolling him for what they saw as hypocrisy.
According to Prince, the relentless trolling pushed him to log off and leave his phone behind. Speaking on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty, he explained that during this time, his cousins, angered by the flood of negative comments, picked up his phone and lashed out by posting the insult about Mahama.
Now in full damage control mode, Prince David Osei insists he did not make the offensive remark and regrets the uproar it has caused. However, his explanation has done little to quell the backlash.
