Great Olympics captain, Gladson Awako, says it’ll be a dream come true for him to play for Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, for the first time in his career.
The 30-year-old has been on hot form in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season; picking the December player of the month award after some splendid performances for the Dade boys.
The former Phoenix Rising midfielder is eying a slot in C. K Akonnor’s squad to play the next round of qualifiers for the 2021 Cameroon AFCON in March against South Africa and Sao Tome.
Awako discloses playing for the Black Stars is something he has been looking forward to for years and will gladly honour it when he’s invited.
“It will be a dream come true for me to play for the Black Stars,” he told graphic.com.gh. “It is something I have been looking forward to all these years, and I will grab the opportunity.
“The coach will decide when the time comes, but I will continue working hard to ensure I make the team in their next grouping,” the 2009 U-20 World Cup winner added.
Awako has scored three goals in nine appearances for Great Olympics in the ongoing campaign.
