Renowned Ghanaian actress and TV presenter Nana Ama McBrown has opened up about the physical and emotional toll of a car accident that has affected her life for over a decade and why she keeps going despite the pain.
Despite the recurring health issues, McBrown said she feels she has no choice but to keep working.
“I didn’t bring this on myself, but life goes on,” she said on Onua Showtime on Sunday, August 24. “I have mouths to feed and a future to build. For nearly 13 years, I’ve had to do everything with one weak arm. It’s painful, but I can’t just sit at home. My family depends on me.”
McBrown also revealed she recently underwent her fifth surgery on her right arm, which has remained fragile since the accident years ago.
“Since that accident, nothing has been the same,” she confessed. “This latest surgery makes it the fifth on my arm. The bone has broken four times already, and I sometimes wonder if it were someone who couldn’t foot hospital bills, would their only option have been amputation?”
