John Paintsil, High Performance coach of the Ghana national football team, has expressed strong belief in the team’s ability to reach the latter stages of the FIFA World Cup

Speaking in an interview, the former Ghana international said the Black Stars possess the experience and quality to compete for a place in the semi-finals or even the final of the global tournament. He pointed to Ghana’s Round of 16 finish at the 2006 World Cup and historic quarter-final run in 2010 as proof of the nation’s pedigree on football’s biggest stage.

According to Paintsil, those previous campaigns have provided valuable lessons that can guide the current generation. He stressed that while ambition is high, thorough preparation will be crucial to achieving success in 2026.

The ex-defender emphasized the importance of player fitness and consistency, urging all eligible players to maintain peak condition to be ready for national duty.

With anticipation already building, Paintsil’s comments reflect growing confidence that the Black Stars can mount another impressive World Cup campaign.
