Black Stars striker Jordan Ayew has completed his switch from Crystal Palace to Leicester City as he continues his career in the Premier League.

“Leicester City Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of experienced striker Jordan Ayew from Crystal Palace on a two-year-deal, subject to FA and Premier League approval,” the club wrote on its official website

Ayew, who has been a key figure at Crystal Palace, joined the Eagles on loan in August 2018 before making the move permanent in July 2019. During his time at Selhurst Park, Ayew made 212 appearances, scoring 23 goals and providing 22 assists across all competitions.

Despite his contributions, Ayew’s role under new manager Oliver Glasner has diminished, with the forward starting on the bench in Palace’s recent 2-1 defeat to Brentford.

“I’m very happy to be here and I’m proud. I want to thank the Club as they fought hard to bring me here – it happened quickly and I’m so happy to be here,” Ayew stated wit excitement.

LEicester won the Championship after suffering relegation last two seasons securing their place back to the top flight and are aiming to make an impact.

The former Premier League champions after parting ways with coach Enzo Maresca who joined Chelsea after a successful stint now have Steve Cooper as their manager.

Cooper will reunite will Ayew who he coached during their time at Swansea City.

Again, Ayew will have the opportunity to share the locker room with compatriot Fatawu Issahaku who played on loan from Sporting CP last season before making permanent move to the Foxes.

He will now link up with his Leicester City team-mates ahead of their Premier League trip to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham on Saturday 24 August (3pm kick-off).
