Ghanaian actress Joselyn Dumas has shared how she lost a large sum of money in a mobile money scam.
In a video posted on her social media pages, she explained that the incident started when she contacted someone she believed was a DStv Ghana representative to upgrade her subscription. The person sent her a link and asked her to enter her decoder details and MoMo PIN.
Recalling the moment her account was compromised, Joselyn said, “As soon as I said to him that was my number, I felt a vibration on my phone. All my money was emptied… he was able to get into my MoMo app.” She added that even after regaining access to her account and depositing money, funds were deducted to cover unauthorized activity.
She used her experience to advise the public “Never give your MoMo PINs, and always verify who you are dealing with.” Dumas shared.
