King Faisal head coach Kasim Gokyildiz has criticised the performance of referee Maale Ireme during their clash with Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Insha Allah lads succumbed to a 2-0 loss to the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium with second half goals from Daniel Afriyie Barnie and Kwadwo Obeng Junior.
Faisal appeared to have what was a legitimate penalty call overlooked by the referees early in the second half and the decision not to award the foul inside the Hearts box against Fatawu Mohammed has caused Kasim to break his vow not to speak about referees.
I’m normally a coach who protects referees. I have always said good words about referees but today I cannot. Such referees like today are destroying the hopes of a whole team. I don’t want to talk too much but that is destroying of a team,” he added.
King Faisal are trapped in the relegation zone but are only 2 points away from the safe zone.
