Ghanaian media personality and Director of Diaspora Affairs in the Office of the President Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) represented Ghana at the maiden Global Africa Summit held in Washington, D.C., where he shared Ghana’s vision for fostering deeper collaboration between Africa and its global diaspora.
Speaking under the theme “Global Partnerships: Fueling Africa’s Development and Collective Prosperity,” KOD delivered a powerful message on unity, empowerment, and the shared responsibility of Africans at home and abroad to build a stronger, self-sustaining continent.
“In my address, I spoke about our collective journey from separation to strength, from remembrance to rebuilding and how shared prosperity must now be our rallying call,” KOD said in a post .
As Director of Diaspora Affairs in the Office of the President of Ghana, KOD reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening bridges that connect Africans worldwide through policy, trade, innovation, and culture.
He emphasised that the future Africa envisions “will not be handed to us; it will be built by us, together.”
The summit brought together leaders, policymakers, and creatives from across Africa and the diaspora, sparking vital conversations around collaboration, investment, and Pan-African progress.
