Minister for Sports, Kofi Adams, has paid glowing tribute to Ghanaian football legend Rev. Osei Kofi, describing him as one of the most distinguished figures in the country’s sporting history.
The remarks were made when a delegation from the family of the national icon, led by sports journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah, visited the minister to formally invite him to the launch of the book in honour of the former Black Stars forward.
Hon. Adams stressed the importance of preserving the legacy of national heroes, noting that documenting history remains vital for future generations. He highlighted Rev. Osei Kofi’s remarkable career with both the Black Stars and Asante Kotoko, recalling his role in Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations triumphs and the historic encounter against Real Madrid in 1962.
Widely known as the “Wizard Dribbler,” Osei Kofi was praised not only for his footballing excellence but also for his patriotism, having turned down a lucrative move abroad to serve his country.
The Minister urged young athletes to emulate his values and dedication.
